Title: All Our Wrong Todays
Author: Elan Mastai
Publisher: Dutton
Pub. Date: 7 February 2017
Genre: Science Fiction, recommended
This is the what-if-I-could-go-back-and-fix-it story you probably never imagined. It is also time travel as raw as the naked heart–especially once it goes soooo wrong. The characters are people who live on the page, including funny and complicated Tom Barren. Though you can see doom a mile away, you still want what he wants as much as he does because the making of that doom seems worthwhile. It is, as Tom calls it, the story of a too-perfectly executed ‘hysterical’ ‘melodramatic’ revenge and all of the unintended consequences that come after…and before.
This book is full of so many surprisingly wonderful moments! Elan Mastai is a talented author with a great voice. The pacing is light and keeps the story moving. The settings are richly drawn. The science is neither brilliant nor dumbed down, just sophisticated enough to entertain thoroughly. I enjoyed it and recommend it!
